More $%&^# proof the BCS sucks?

Point #1 -

Even some of the most avid college football fans don't know about theother divisions football teams. Sure we know that Apalachian State pretty much rules and they did beat Michigan. But outside of that not so much. I'll admit I don't really follow it until the time of year that they reach the playoffs.

In Division 2 football Minnesota Duluth (#7 Rank) and Norhtern Missouri(#3 Rank) are playing. This division does their playoff a little funky but Neither of these 2 schools received any of the 4 (YES, 4) number 1 seed positions. If the BCS were in Division 2 the teams plaing for the title wouldn't be in there.

How does division 2 rank? It's a media poll. Same as the AP poll in the big league. So if the guys who pick the schools in Division 2 don't get it right, what makes anyone think they get it right in the big league?

They don't, that's why the system sucks!

Point #2 -

In Division 1 we are also watching a playoff. Not what we all think of as Division 1, the old Division 2 now that Division 1 is the BCS. Anywho.... We are watching Richmond vs Montana. These 2 schools received 1 of 8 'at large' bids because neither team won their conference.

ALABAMA and TEXAS fans should be paying attention here.

So in Division 1, they have a playoff? And, they send the top 16 schools? And, And, the two teams playing for a TRUE championship didn't win their division? So does this mean that the team playing best at the end of the year isn't always the best team out there? If a team looses 1 game they are not necessarily a bad team?

Good thing that only happens in those other divisions!

Point #3 - I've made this point before.

If the BCS was instituted in the NFL 6 of the last 8 Superbowl Champs would not have even been in the game. Eli and Peyton Manning would not have had an opportunity to win the MVP in their games. (although Peyton would have went in a different year, just not the year they actually went)

Here's where I posted more details about that. Click me

Point #5 - Another 1 I have brought up before.

Look at the NCAA BB Tournament. A little thing they call March Madness. In Basketball they pick 4 different #1 teams. How many times sinc ethe Tourney started have all 4 #1 teams made it to the final 4?????? Once, last year. So if the4 top teams in a sport don't ever (or 1 in about 30 years) make it, what makes us think we can just choose the top 2 football teams?

We Can't!!!
